Recently there was a big hue and cry from users of Instagram over changes terms of service. However, despite these odds Instagram has been able to increase its user count by 10 per cent on month to month basis. According to a press announcement by Instagram, it now has reached 90 million users mark. Kevin Systrom , the co-founder of Instagram has told AllThingsD:
“Instagram continues to see very strong growth around the world. With many of the product and internationalization improvements we’ve made, we’ve been excited to see these efforts resonate with users globally.”
This is a delightful news for the social photo sharing company owned by Facebook after the recent news that Instagram was going to lose users because of the unwanted changes in the terms of service of Instagram. New York Times recently reported a decline in the users count of Instagram, citing an analytics firm. However, the data used by the analytics firm measured user activity for users who used Instagram through their Facebook accounts.
Instagram had decided to withdraw the proposed changes in terms of service and has infact reverted to the old terms of service. If the proposed change would have stayed, it would have meant that Instagram photos shared by users of Instagram could be used in advertisements on Instagram, the photo-sharing network.
